| WA provided complete A/E design services for a new cultural center for the exclusive Ocean Reef Club in the Florida Keys. Situated within this resort and boating community, the design focused around an outdoor landscaped courtyard at the heart of the Cultural Center complex. As a community building, the landscaped open space enhances the character and spirit of the community that this project symbolizes. The courtyard serves as an entrance space and in the traditional fashion all building spaces and entrances are organized around its perimeter. The courtyard is designed for passive activities such as reading on benches under the shade of trees, strolling, and contemplation in the nature of Japanese gardens. It is also designed as a venue for outdoor theater and music, for receptions and special events. |
