| WA assumed complete architecture and engineering responsibility for the new 500,000 SF senior high school when the design was approximately 90% complete. The firm's services included revisions to the design to clear outstanding mandatories, redo calculations as required to take over A/E responsibilities, and preparation of multiple bid packages for fast-track construction. WA was responsible for completing the design package for construction and clearing the many outstanding mandatories. In addition to the basic services for the project, WA was also responsible for additional services, including engineering services for the foundation package, FF & E, interior design, and preparation of contract documents for all furniture.
At the time the three-story high school was the largest high school in Miami-Dade County. The school is a magnet school with programs in both the arts and medical sciences.
