WA participated in the creation of approximately 18,000 new student stations as part of the “Relocatable Classroom Replacement Program.” The series of projects which were part of the program were a direct result of the class reduction mandated by the state legislature. In that capacity, WA provided A/E design, site adaptation services for new construction and renovations to 28 schools in Miami-Dade County. The project entailed the collaboration with other A/E’s and the simultaneous design and construction of these 28 projects required a strong project management team to satisfy the logistics of multiple projects, on existing facilities requiring upgrades to their existing infrastructure needs, as well as the accelerated pace of the construction process which was based on the CM-at-Risk delivery method.

The project scope included the design and construction of single-story tilt-up construction modular classroom buildings as well as parking lot expansions, the creation of Parent and Bus Drop-Offs, new basketball and volleyball hard courts; major electrical upgrades, water/sewer main extensions, design of lift stations, drainage and water/sewer connections; design of systems for security, telephone, CCTV and data systems and HVAC upgrades.
