WA has provided engineering design and construction administration services for the addition and/or replacement of 15 chiller plants at the following Miami-Dade County Public Schools:
- Southwood Middle (500 tons)
- Bay Harbor K-8 (400-tons)
- Ferguson Sr. High (250 tons)
- Coral Way K-8 (600 tons)
- Sunset Elementary (120 tons)
- Ernest Graham Elementary (600 tons)
- Southside Elementary (400 tons)
- Howard Drive Elementary (120 tons)
- Centennial Middle (500 tons)
- Winston Park Elementary (600 tons)
- Devon Aire K-8 (700 tons)
- Kensington Elementary (600 tons)
- Pinecrest Elementary (400 tons)
- South Miami K-8 (400 tons)
- Rockway Elementary (400 tons)
The chiller plants included cooling towers, pumping systems, energy management and control systems (EMCS). WA paid special attention to the aesthetics of the design of the central chiller plants in order to blend the building in with the existing architecture on the campuses. Each chiller plant was designed to accommodate the new classroom buildings and the rest of the campus. |
