WA was part of a multi-firm planning team that developed the Master Plan for a 2,500-acre entertainment, retail, sports and recreation complex. The firm was responsible for planning of the Marine Stadium as well as energy planning. As planned, the proposed park featured family attractions linked to professional and amateur sports venues by an entertainment village. The park featured a professional baseball stadium, multi-purpose arena, a theme park, movie production studios, facilities for television and radio broadcasting, a marine stadium, two 18-hole golf courses, a tennis complex, an office park, as well as community parks and recreational areas. The Blockbuster/VIACOM merger resulted in the cancellation of the park after initial design efforts. |
